Your Role
- Data exploration: Dig into one of the world's largest battery operation datasets, covering grid-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS), and work out what it says about performance, safety and lifetime.
- Analytics and models: Find trends, anomalies and predictive patterns, and help turn them into methods that run in production.
- Visualisation: Turn analysis into visuals an engineer, an operator or a customer can act on.
- AI in the workflow: Use AI tools as a normal part of how the work gets done, from exploring data to writing code, and build the judgement to tell a correct answer from a merely plausible one.
- Real project work: Take a real piece of a real project, with a mentor and a clear deliverable, not a side task invented for a student.
Your Skills
- Studies: You are enrolled in a technical degree, for example electrical or mechanical engineering, computational science or data science.
- Battery and BESS enthusiast: You are genuinely interested in lithium-ion batteries and the BESS industry, and have picked up some battery basics already.
- Python: You can work with data in Python, or you are close enough that you will get there fast.
- AI tools: You already use AI tools in your studies, or you are keen to start, and you check the output rather than trusting it.
- Working method: You bring initiative, structure and reliability, you think analytically, and you ask when something is unclear.
- Languages: You communicate confidently in English. German is a plus, not a requirement.
